Description:

This unique fireside reveals the little-known cause of the Mormon pioneers having to create a temporary settlement at Winter Quarters during their journey west and asks the audience if we are in danger of repeating history in our times. While we may not be traveling cross country, like the pioneers we have been given timely and important counsel in our day.  If the Saints had followed the simple directions given to them during the exodus from Nauvoo, they would have made it to the Salt Lake Valley the same year, and never had to winter over midway through the trek before continuing on.  What was the counsel they set aside? How does that counsel parallel counsel we are being given now? And what unplanned detours and hardships await us if we don’t heed the wisdom our leaders are trying to share with us?
