Our Divine Relationships
The scriptures are very clear about our relationships with Heavenly Father, the Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost.
Our Heavenly Father is the Father of our spirit. We lived with Him before we came to earth to receive a body. His plan for us is to grow and learn here in this mortal sphere. Here we are faced with choices between good and evil, love and hate, spirituality and worldliness, and a host of other things. What we choose will determine the kind of person we are.
In this life we will all make mistakes. This is why Heavenly Father sent His son Jesus Christ to earth. He came to set an example for us. He came to show us how to live and how to make good choices. He also came to overcome sin and death through His experiences in Gethsemane, Golgotha, and at the tomb.
Through His Atonement, Jesus paid the price for every sin that every one of us has or ever will commit. If we repent of our sins, His Atonement will cover those sins so that Heavenly Father will remember them no more.
While Jesus was here on earth He told His disciples that when He died, they would not be left comfortless. He said He would send the Spirit to be with them.
The Spirit, also known as the Holy Ghost, is accessible to each one of us. As we strive to keep God’s commandments and be faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ, we will be worthy to receive impressions from the Holy Ghost from time to time.
It is because of these three relationships, our relationship with Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost, that we can find purpose and joy in this life. We can be guided and directed to make good choices, and repent when needed, so that when we die, we might be found faithful and worthy to live with them forever.
If you would like to know for sure that these things I am sharing are true, all you have to do is to kneel in prayer and humbly ask God to reveal the truth to you. He wants you to know the truth about who you are, and who He is. He wants you to know the truth about Jesus, and also the truth about the Spirit.
